Strengthening the Cashew Value Chain: A Delegation of EU DG INTPA, GIZ/MOVE-ComCashew and Nitidae Visits Tanzania

From 10th to 13th March 2025, a distinguished team led by Mr. Luis Rodriguez from EU DG INTPA, along with Mr. Lamine Diallo, Mrs. Silvia Sala, Mr. Daniel Gonzalez from the EU Delegation, Mrs. Anne Meyer, Mr. Benjamin Garnier from Nitidae, Ms. Jennifer Gache from the German Consulting Group (GFA),  and Mr. Mohamed Salifou from GIZ/MOVE-ComCashew, visited Tanzania to engage with partners and stakeholders involved in the cashew value chain.

The delegation had high-level meetings with various stakeholders active in the cashew sector, including the Cashew Board of Tanzania (CBT), processors such as BIOTAN and Mama Cashew, prominent cashew processors and exporters of organic cashew nuts in Tanzania, as well as the Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI). The delegation also had the opportunity to embark on a field trip to Kisemvule and Mkuranga to visit the BIOTAN cashew factory and the Korosho Group factory, respectively.

This visit underscores the EU's commitment to enhancing the cashew value chain in Tanzania, fostering sustainable practices, and supporting local processors and farmers' competitiveness.
